Sophie Beckingham was born in Cheshire and studied History of Art at the University of Cambridge.

Her works cover a broad range of subject matter influenced by her surroundings, from isolating for weeks during the pandemic to travelling overland to Azerbaijan in 2023.

She is now based in London.
